Catherine, Princess of Wales, returns to public eye to celebrate Trooping the Colour

Catherine, Princess of Wales had asked the public for ‘some time, space and privacy' in March after she had broken the news of her cancer diagnosis. Since then, she has followed through and kept her privacy, but Kate has announced she will be back in front of the people - sooner than we thought!

"I'm looking forward to attending The King's Birthday Parade this weekend with my family," Kate wrote on Instagram, "and hope to join a few public engagements over the summer, but equally knowing I am not out of the woods yet."

"On the days I feel well enough," she wrote , "it is a joy to engage with school life, spend personal time on the things that give me energy and positivity, as well as starting to do a little work from home."

In a video in March, the Princess confirmed that she was battling cancer. The press has stepped back and allowed the royal family to deal with the struggle together behind closed doors, despite continued speculation as to her whereabouts.

Royal expert Robert Jobson told 'Hello!' magazine that the cancer diagnosis was a ‘huge blow’ to William and Kate. Yet stepping out of the limelight has not stopped the couple from being good parents. Jobson hints that the Princess of Wales has been determined to ‘stick to a routine’ - for the sake of their children.

"It’s been tough on both of them, not least as parents, as they try to reconcile their children's mental well-being with the seriousness of her diagnosis."

He added the two are surely 'closer' as they battle this ordeal together and that their bond is now ‘unshakeable’. "there is no question that William has been Catherine's rock. He is the constant in her life and she is at the heart of his."

Tatler reports that Prince William and his wife and children 'retreated' to their family home of Anmer Hall in Norfolk. Here they spent the Easter break, allegedly alongside Catherine's mother, Carole Middleton who"moved in with them in order to offer additional support."

Tatler also revealed that the Princess has been 'keeping up to date with her Early Years project' from home. She even made her first public statement since she revealed she was receiving treatment for cancer, paying tribute to the victims of a knife attack in Sydney on the kensingtonroyal instagram page.

Catherine had for privacy in March, after the controversy surrounding her disappearance and all the conspiracy theories that have arisen following the abdominal operation she underwent in January. The Princess announced that she is suffering from cancer.

Kate Middleton appeared in a video, recorded by the BBC on Wednesday 20th March 2024 and broadcast the following Friday, in which the Princess herself wanted to explain in first person what she is going through and how she and her family were coping.

It is not known what type of cancer Kate Middleton has, but she has admitted that it was discovered during the abdominal operation she underwent on 16 January at The London Clinic. Although the operation was successful and it was initially thought that there was no cancer, on further examination they discovered that the disease was indeed present.

According to the Daily Mail, the cancer confirmation came the day before the mass in honour of King Constantine of Greece, held at St George's Chapel at Windsor Castle on 27 February. Prince William was due to attend the ceremony but surprised the public and press by not being present and pulling out at the last minute.

The Princess of Wales' medical team recommended that she undergo preventative chemotherapy treatment and she is now undergoing that treatment.

Looking serious but calm, the Princess of Wales began her speech by thanking all those who have cared about her well-being over the past few months.

“It has been an incredibly tough couple of months for our entire family, but I’ve had a fantastic medical team who have taken great care of me, for which I am so grateful," the Princess of Wales added.

Kate Middleton admitted that the news came as a shock to her and her family and that it took time to find the right way to tell her three children, George, Charlotte, and Louis.

"I am well and getting stronger every day by focusing on the things that will help me heal; in my mind, body, and spirit," she commented. The Princess also confirmed that William has been a great support and by her side.

Finally, the Princess of Wales ended by saying that she hopes there is an understanding of the privacy and time her family needs while she completes her treatment. "My work has always brought me a deep sense of joy and I look forward to being back when I am able, but for now I must focus on making a full recovery".

She has not forgotten all those who suffer from the same disease, including, as fate would have it, her father-in-law, who was diagnosed with the disease following prostate surgery in January. "You are not alone," were Kate Middleton's words.

"I have been blown away by all the kind messages of support and encouragement over the last couple of months," Catherine showed her gratitude on social media on June 14 "It really has made the world of difference to William and me and has helped us both through some of the harder times".

"Thank you so much for your continued understanding and to all of you who have so bravely shared your stories with me."
