Demi Moore is 60 years old

At age 60, Demi Moore still outshines everyone she meets during fashion galas and showbiz events. But she's no longer the same woman from 'General Hospital' or 'Ghost' in the 80s and 90s.

A long career in film

The actress has had a long career in the spotlights of Hollywood. From early dramas like 'No Small Affair' (1984, on this picture) to 'Please Baby Please' in 2022, she's been known for her fabulous looks and her husky voice.

Demi Moore: a life of challenges

Behind the success, though, she lived through several hardships. Let's see how Demi Moore has changed over time and which challenges she's had to face in her life.

When Demi Moore was a child

Yes, the girl with the glasses in the picture is Demi Moore. The appearance of the famous protagonist of blockbusters like 'Ghost' and 'Indecent Proposal' has changed (a lot) over the years.

A difficult childhood

Demetria Gene Guynes was born in 1962 in Roswell, New Mexico and her childhood was a tragic one. As she revealed in her book 'Inside Out', her mother had a drinking problem and forced her at age 15 to go to bed with a stranger in exchange for $500.

Demi Moore's past

Her biological father abandoned the family, and then her stepfather took his own life when she was a child. All of these elements forged a fragile and unstable woman.

A model at age 16

Demi Moore managed to come out of her complicated situation and began to make her way into the difficult world of acting when she was 16.

Acting and modeling

She also took modeling jobs, even in magazines like 'Oui' or 'Penthouse.' She used the pseudonym of Vivianne Pollentier.

Demi Moore in General Hospital

At the beginning of the '80s, she participated in films such as 'Choices', 'Parasite' and 'No Small Affair' before getting her first big role with the TV series 'General Hospital' (ABC). There, she played the character of Jackie Templeton, a young reporter who appeared in dozens of episodes.

Married to Freddy Moore

Demi Guynes changed her name to Demi Moore when she married Freddy Moore in 1980. They would split up in 1985.

The 80s for Demi Moore

In the meantime, she continued to make a name for herself in the world of acting. Moore followed the style of the '80s and '90s: shoulder pads, denim suits, and big hair.

Demi Moore in Ghost

The role that got Demi Moore's name written in gold letters was that of 'Ghost.' She shared the tragic love story with Patrick Swayze and Whoopi Goldberg. Demi Moore would be nominated for a Golden Globe for Best Actress in 'Ghost.'

A whole new look

Demi Moore appeared stupendous with her short hair. It seemed that she had turned a page with the arrival of a new decade.

Demi Moore in The Butcher's Wife

For the film 'The Butcher's Wife' (1991), the actress radically changed her look to blond.

Demi Moore in Indecent Proposal

The highly successful drama 'Indecent Proposal' (1993) showed a seductive Demi Moore with dark hair in a bob cut. She became the queen of the box office.

Demi Moore and Bruce Willis

In November 1987, Demi Moore had married actor Bruce Willis. They were one of the power couples of Hollywood.

Three children together

He would be the father of her three daughters: Rumer, Scout LaRue, and Tallulah Belle.

Demi Moore and Bruce Willis: divorce

One of the most famous marriages of the 1990s, the relationship between Demi Moore and Bruce Willis ended in 2000.

A few good movies

Over the course of the '90s, Demi Moore's star was beginning to fade in the cinemas. Still, she had some interesting roles up her sleeves.

When Demi Moore shaved her head

What about 'G.I. Jane' ('Lieutenant O'Neil'), a role for which she shaved her hair, in 1997? It was one of the few professional joys for Moore at the end of the '90s.

Demi Moore: addictions

Apparently, as she herself revealed in the book 'Inside Out', Moore was not happy at the time. Her addictions and personal problems made her life a living hell.

Demi Moore and Ashton Kutcher

She appeared to recover in 2003 when she began a relationship with the actor Ashton Kutcher. They got married and lived together until 2011.

Was Ashton Kutcher unfaithful to Demi Moore?

According to Demi Moore in her book 'Inside Out', the actor cheated on her. For that reason, they broke up.

The worst moment for Demi Moore

In those years, Demi Moore had one of her worst life experiences. "When I split up in 2011," she says in Inside Out, "I started to fall apart. I didn't have a career or a love affair; it all started to become blurry."

Demi Moore lost her baby

According to her book, she became pregnant with a child from Ashton Kutcher and lost her baby when she was six months pregnant. She blamed herself because she had started to drink again during her pregnancy.

When Demi Moore overdosed

Demi Moore promised to change her habits but overdosed in 2012. "It was like seeing myself from the outside," she says in the book, "so I decided it was time to leave behind the pain and shame I felt."

Turning the page

That was the moment a new Demi Moore entered the scene. The actress managed to get out of the depression and catch the spotlight once again.

Demi Moore: back in business

Her style, more sophisticated but equally youthful, made each of her appearances worth highlighting. Her long dark hair, a somewhat re-shaped face (perhaps with extra help?), and beautiful outfits reminded us of the golden age of the 1990s.

New acting jobs

A renewed Demi Moore moved into the professional arena. 'LOL' with Miley Cyrus, 'Margin Call,' and the series 'Empire' confirmed the return of the actress.

Extra help?

One of the most memorable looks of Demi Moore was her appearance at the Paris Fashion Week in 2021. The media praised her beauty and confidence but also suggested that she had had some plastic surgery to help her look that way.

Demi Moore: Inside Out

In 2019, Demi Moore published her autobiographical book 'Inside Out.' The revelations in the book, some of which we have mentioned here, got her more than one headline.

Demi Moore's gray hair

Not only was she news for her private life, but also for her style. For example, the time she wore her natural hair with some gray colors as a result of aging.

Demi Moore continues to act

Demi Moore continues to make movies. In 2022, she appeared in 'Please Baby Please' and she is also making a movie with Margaret Qualley: 'Substance.' So we haven't seen the last of this superstar yet!
