Jungkook, Billboard's Best K-pop artist for 2024
Jungkook has officially been named the Top K-Pop artist according to Billboard. He even superseded his boyband BTS. For those who don't know the famous K-Pop artist, here's the history behind his significant historical achievement.
Not just a member of BTS, Jungkook is a South Korean singer becoming more known for his solo work. Him leading the Billboard K-Pop Artist 100 proves it.
Born Jeon Jung-kook, Jungkook was born on September 1, 1997, in South Korea.
At just the tender age of 14, Jungkook decided to audition for the K-pop reality TV series, ‘Superstar K’.
Although Naver reports that Jungkook did not pass the auditions for ‘Superstar K’ then, he was offered multiple casting offers from several entertainment companies.

The same report from Naver continued that Jungkook only settled with Big Hit Entertainment, especially after witnessing RM, the future leader of BTS, perform.

Jungkook has also ventured out as a solo artist by releasing his own music in 2020. That was when he released the self-produced ‘Still With You’ on Soundcloud, reports Billboard.
It was only until 2023 that another Billboard article reported that Jungkook gained massive attention for his solo work with the release of ‘Seven’ on July 14, 2023, which featured American rapper Latto.
And in the same year, Jungkook would go on to release three more solo singles and one collaboration single – making 2023 a rather active musical year for Jungkook.
The songs released in 2023 by Jungkook as a solo artist were ‘Seven’, ‘3D’, and ‘Standing Next to You’.

These songs featured prominent American artists such as the aforementioned Latto, but also Jack Harlow. The remix for ‘Standing Next to You’ also is notable in itself as it features R&B icon, Usher.
