Kim Byung-sun, actress under JYP Entertainment, passes at 37

Another star has been gone too soon, as Allkpop reports that South Korean actress Kim Byung-sun has bassed at 37. Here are the details behind her untimely death and life up to this point.

Kim Byung-sun was a South Korean actress who was known for being an actress under one of South Korea’s top entertainment companies, JYP Entertainment.

According to Namu, Kim Byung-sun was born on November 8, 1987, in South Korea.

Maeil Business News reports that Kim Byung-sun had studied at Kyunghee University's Department of Theater and Film prior to joining JYP Entertainment as an actress.

Kim Byung-sun was reported by Namu to have made her acting debut on the big screen when she played a minor role in the film ‘The Perfect Couple’. The same year, she landed more roles in television.

On TV, Kim Byung-sun has also acted in the shows ‘Your Scenery’ and ‘War of Money’ that year in 2007.

Sports Chosun reports that Kim Byung-sun’s role as Ms. Cho in ‘War of Money’ was one of her most memorable works. Other than what was mentioned, she had also worked on the 2009 KBS1 drama ‘On the Way Home' and the 2008 film ‘Romantic Island’.

Although she was signed with one of the biggest entertainment agencies in South Korea, Kim Byung-sun mostly played minor roles and was not a well-known actress, despite her memorable character in ‘War of Money’.

Despite her lack of popularity, many were shocked to hear news of Kim Byung-sun’s death. Maeil Business News reports that many netizens have taken to recalling the late actress’ work in early 2000s South Korean TV, with some also adding that "it [was] a shame" for the actress to have passed at the age of 37.

The same report from Maeil Business News states that Kim Byung-sun had passed from an undisclosed chronic illness on the 25th of October. Her funeral was held on October 27 in Seoul’s Seoul Asan Medical Center Funeral Hall. It was attended by many dear friends and family.
