Rosé's album with Atlantic Records: Another US debut of a BLACKPINK member
The members of BLACKPINK are on a roll this season, with several of them having released solo tracks as artists outside of their girl group! Rosé released her US debut album in December.
Rosé is a member of the K-pop girl group BLACKPINK, which is the brainchild of the K-pop management company, YG Entertainment. She is also the group’s singer.
Born on 11 February 1997 as Roseanne Park, Rosé is a New Zealand citizen who has been raised in Australia.
Rosé's life in K-pop now can be attributed to her father, who had told her to audition for YG Entertainment’s casting auditions that were held in Sydney, Australia, back in 2012, reports The Sydney Morning Herald. She naturally passed the audition and moved to Seoul, South Korea, two months later.
Did you know?: Before debuting as a member of BLACKPINK, Rosé’s had been featured in heavyweight labelmate G-Dragon’s song ‘Without You’ back in 2012. Naver reports that she was not credited as the singer in the song until she officially made her debut in BLACKPINK!
To think that it was just in August 2016 that Rosé had debuted in BLACKPINK alongside her other girl group mates, Jennie, Lisa, and Jisoo.
The group has become one of K-pop’s most iconic girl groups since and has even made history as the first K-pop girl group to perform in the American music festival, Coachella, reports Variety!
Just like the rest of the members of BLACKPINK now, Rosé too had progressed as an artist by branching out solo. In 2021, she released her debut single album ‘R’ and broke several music chart records with her song ‘On The Ground’.
Rosé produced more solo music after, with the release of the songs ‘Gone’ and ‘Hard to Love’. Both songs did amazing in music chart records too!
Despite already having established a name as a solo singer, the news that Rosé has signed with Atlantic Records to record her new solo album, in the fall of 2024, was particularly significant, as Variety stated that it would be her first music debut in the United States!
The album with Atlantic Records is full-length and has the title ‘rosie’. In the fall, the singer posted teaser images regarding the album cover on her Instagram, leaving many K-pop fans excited for her latest release.
