Carla Bruni was only 16 when she met the guitarist of the French band Telephone. A fervent fan of the band, she went with a friend to Louis Bertignac's house after he invited them. He was 29 years old at the time.

They officially became a couple a few years later. Their love story lasted from 1986 to 1990. Since then, they have remained friends. Louis Bertignac even produced Carla Bruni's first album, 'Someone Told Me' in 2002. She took her career from modeling to singing.

In the early 1990s, the famous guitarist Eric Clapton fell madly in love with Carla Bruni. "I was obsessed with her," he said. But for the young woman, 22 years his junior, it was only a temporary relationship.

While the supermodel was in a relationship with Eric Clapton, the latter introduced her to his friend Mick Jagger. Known for his well-stocked hunting list, the leader of the Rolling Stones had no qualms about seducing Clapton's girlfriend, and Clapton ended up heartbroken.

After breaking up with Vanessa Paradis (with whom he was in a relationship from 1988 to 1991), Florent Pagny crossed the spellbinding gaze of Carla Bruni and fell in love with her. According to several media, they had a brief romance.

Carla Bruni and the Swiss actor Vincent Perez were officially a couple between 1992 and 1994. Their love story eventually turned into a strong friendship. Raphaël Enthoven was married to someone else, but after meeting Carla Bruni on New Year's Eve 2000 in the enchanting Moroccan city of Marrakech, he fell under her spell. He would soon file for divorce so he could spend all his time with Carla.

The president and his new girlfriend appeared together in public for the first time in December 2007. They spent a day at Disneyland Paris.

Everything went very quickly between them. Carla Bruni married the President in office in February 2008, thus becoming First Lady of France.

The couple had a daughter, Giulia, on October 19, 2011.
