Jeremy Allen White must take an alcohol test to see his daughters

Jeremy Allen White is one of the hottest actors in Hollywood. For 10 years he played Lip Gallagher in 'Shameless,' but it was the role of Carmy Berzatto, the protagonist of 'The Bear', that really made him an A-Lister.

Unfortunately, for this actor, professional success came with the departure of love.

2023 has not only seen the consolidation of Jeremy Allen White as a star, but it was also the year in which he divorced Addison Timlin, who had been his partner since 2013. They had gotten married in 2019 and had two daughters together:  Ezer Billie (4 years) and Dolores Wild (2 years).

The year began with a beautiful message from Addison Timlin to Jeremy Allen White after he won the Golden Globe for Best Actor.
"Watching you win on Tuesday was one of the most overwhelming dimension hopping moments of my whole life, watching you win last night while holding our two babies was pretty out of this world too. Daddy winned another trophy winners cup. We're so proud."

It also turned out to be a premonitory message, as it announced a big change in their lives. "When I watched the pilot for The Bear, I cried my f- heart out. I think somewhere I must’ve known how much life was about to change."
And change, it did.

Months later, in May 2023, Addison Timlin sent a complicated and harsh message through Instagram. At that point, she called herself a "single mom."

In an extensive post, the wife of Jeremy Allen White confessed to feeling very alone and tired. "It can be exhausting but more than anything it can just be so lonely, when something magical happens and you have to tell yourself 'don't forget this' because there's no witness by your side."

Days later, according to People magazine, Addison Timlin filed for divorce. She started a discreet process that took the couple several months.

At first, "when she asked for a divorce, he got angry, but everything has calmed down," a source close to the family told People magazine.

In fact, now they have a good relationship and the divorce agreement includes the couple's intention to have joint custody of their two daughters. However, there is a non-negotiable condition.

According to the divorce documents compiled by People, the actor would have joint custody as long as he was sober when he was with the girls.

To check this, he would have to use a device called 'Soberlink' (pictured) which checks a person's alcohol level. Only recently, it has become known that the actor has had problems with alcohol.

The divorce specify that when he has custody of his daughters, the actor must use 'Soberlink' twice a day on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays, while on Saturdays there would be three tests and on Sundays only one.

Likewise, Jeremy Allen White has been required to attend therapy once a week and at least two AA meetings a week.

If he doesn't meet the requirements, Addison Timlin would get custody of Ezer Billie and Dolores Wild.

Thus, one of the most solid couples in Hollywood has broken up. Friends since 2006, partners since 2013 and, since 2023, ex-partners. Sometimes, success comes at a high price.
