Jacob Elordi (Brisbane, Australia, 1997), is admired by both the public and acclaimed by the critics. When taking a look at his life, we find out who this man is behind the face and the road he has travelled to stardom.

Need proof he really is somebody to watch? In January 2024, he hosted the legendary American television show  'Saturday Night Live' for the first time.

But how did he get here? Elordi started catching people's eye with his roles in 'The Kissing Booth' (2018) and 'Euphoria' (2019), the series that gave Jacob Elordi's career a big boost.

He played Elvis Presley in Sofia Coppola's 'Priscilla' and then he took on a role in one of the best reviewed films of 2023: 'Saltburn'. This film, directed by Emerald Fennell, catapulted him to fame.

As if his talent as an actor wasn't enough, his almost two metres (1.96m) of obvious physical attractiveness has also contributed to the admiration of a multitude of fans and big companies have set their sights on him.

He is the face of Hugo Boss perfumes and Calvin Klein clothing, for whom he posed in his underwear, arousing passions and inspiring people with his style.

Jacob Elordi has also become a fashion icon, starring in trendy looks that sets him further steps ahead from contemporaries.

He grew up in a middle-class Catholic family in Brisbane with his parents: his father was a painter and his mother, a housewife (also a volunteer in the canteen where he studied). He also has three sisters .

His paternal grandparents emigrated to Australia from the Spanish Basque Country with his father, who was only eight years old at the time. That is why the actor has a Basque surname.

There has been some controversy about his origins: "I am a descendant of Basques... It is that small place between France and Spain... My grandfather would strangle me if he knew I say I have Spanish ancestry."

Controversies aside, Elordi's first experience on a Hollywood film set was as an extra at the age of 19 in 'Pirates of the Caribbean: Salazar's Revenge'. But his passion for acting began much earlier.

It was at the age of 11 when he debuted with his first role on stage, in the musical 'Seussical'. Although the road wasn't easy, he has acknowledged in several interviews that he was bullied for doing theatre.

On the romantic front, as with any teenage star, his private life has attracted media attention - some confirmed and some only rumoured.

He had a brief romance with Joey King, his partner in the film saga of 'The Kissing Booth', bringing the passion of the big screen to real life.

And then there was speculation of a courtship with Zendaya, his co-star in 'Euphoria', with whom he was caught kissing in 2020 on the streets of New York. Yet, neither of them confirmed nor denied anything about it.

His romance with model Kaia Gerber, daughter of 90s supermodel Cindy Crawford, barely lasted a year between September 2020 and November 2021.

His on-again, off-again relationship with influencer Olivia Jade, daughter of actress Lori Loughlin and designer Mossimo Giannulli, has also attracted media attention.

Jacob Elordi could be a sort of 21st-century James Dean. He is set to appear in Guillermo del Toro's 'Frankenstein' in 2025, a project with great promise. And yet, in his words in an interview with El País, every day he feels "that I shouldn't be here. That I'm an impostor". His legion of fans certainly don't feel the same way.
